Subaru has given its SUV, the Forester, a full model change. The Subaru Forester is a mid-size SUV in Subaru’s lineup. Since the debut of the first-generation model in 1997, the Forester has evolved over five generations, and this full redesign marks the launch of the sixth generation.
The exterior of the new Forester features a completely redesigned look, built on the theme of solidity and presence, with bold and voluminous proportions that convey a strong stance. At the front, a continuous design from the grille to the headlamps emphasizes a wide appearance. The front bumper is split into upper and lower sections; the upper part is shaped to surround the fog lamps, creating a sense of stability.
At the rear, the design places the visual axis high by connecting the left and right combination lamps, emphasizing the thickness of the lower body and enhancing the vehicle’s width. The rear gate garnish is engraved with a “FORESTER” emblem, enhancing its powerful and commanding presence.
Inside, the new Forester offers a comfortable cabin designed for both everyday use and outdoor activities, with textures that balance style and practicality and seat designs that promote communication among passengers. An 11.6-inch center information display, standard on all models, offers a wide array of functions and information.
The new Forester is available with two power units: a 1.8L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder turbo engine and the S:HEV strong hybrid system based on a 2.5L engine.
The grade lineup consists of six variants: the standard turbo engine models Sport and Sport EX; the strong hybrid models X-BREAK S:HEV and X-BREAK S:HEV EX, which feature water-repellent seats and cargo areas for improved outdoor usability; and the premium-oriented Premium S:HEV and Premium S:HEV EX, which include refined seat materials and 19-inch tires.
In terms of safety features, the new Forester is equipped with the next-generation EyeSight system, which now includes not only stereo cameras but also a wide-angle monocular camera and front-side radars. This expands the range of situations where pre-collision braking can be effective. Furthermore, all “EX” grades come standard with EyeSight X, Subaru’s advanced driver assistance system that adds even more sophisticated capabilities to the core EyeSight system.
