TOYOTA Crown Estate Special Edition “RS 'THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL'” Debuts

In June, Toyota Motor Corporation released a special edition model of the Crown Estate, the “RS 'THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL',” exclusively available at the Crown specialty store “THE CROWN.”

The Toyota Crown, positioned as a premium model under the Toyota brand, has expanded its lineup in the new generation with the crossover sedan “Crown Crossover,” the SUV “Crown Sport,” the saloon “Crown Sedan,” and the crossover wagon “Crown Estate.”

This newly introduced special edition model, the Estate RS “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL,” is based on the Estate RS and embodies the theme “Sophistication that reflects your individuality.” It features the dignified texture that symbolizes “THE LIMITED” and comes in a specially developed body color: matte metal.

The special matte metal body color of the Estate RS “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL” adopts a unique surface treatment called “TM Coat” on the outermost layer, which facilitates maintenance of the matte finish. Crafted with expert precision, it achieves a thin and uniform application. Without compromising the matte appearance, it offers excellent durability, stain resistance, and ease of cleaning. Additionally, it comes equipped with 235/45R21 tires and 21-inch x 8.5J aluminum wheels (finished in matte black) with a center ornament, aiming to harmonize the dynamic form and radiant expression of the wheels.

Inside the Estate RS “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL,” sport seats (genuine leather with red stitching) provide excellent holding performance to help the driver focus on the joy of driving. The special interior color, “Black Luster,” enhances sophistication with a subtle luster. The dimple-processed genuine leather shift knob features a piano black ornament, and the instrument panel is adorned with exclusive laser-engraved accents unique to THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL.

The powertrain of this special edition model remains the same as the base version, employing a 2.5L plug-in hybrid system composed of an A25A-FXS type 2,487cc inline 4-cylinder DOHC D-4S gasoline engine (maximum output: 177ps/6000rpm, maximum torque: 22.3kg·m/3600rpm), a 5NM front motor (maximum output: 134kW, maximum torque: 270Nm), a 4NM rear motor (maximum output: 40kW, maximum torque: 121Nm), and a lithium-ion battery (capacity: 51Ah).

Additional features include two exclusive Crown keys, a fully black manual case, and a digital key system that allows a smartphone to be used as the vehicle’s key—all included as standard.
