The Toyota GR Yaris is a three-door sports hatchback based on the Yaris, born from the concept of "making ever-better cars starting from motorsports."

On the exterior, the GR Yaris features a performance-driven design refined through the harsh conditions of racing. Notable elements include a lower grille designed for weight reduction, increased rigidity, and improved cooling performance, as well as a segmented front bumper for easier replacement in the event of damage. It also boasts a wide and low stance with dimensions of 3995 mm in length, 1805 mm in width, and 1455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2560 mm.

For this minor update, the front design has been enhanced with a large opening and a steel mesh lower grille to improve cooling performance. A split bumper has been adopted to facilitate easier replacement during competitions. At the rear, the backup and rear fog lamps have been relocated inside the taillights, and a sleek LED light bar has been introduced. Additionally, the lower bumper opening enhances aerodynamics and heat dissipation.

Inside, the GR Yaris cockpit has evolved into a driver-first environment, offering excellent operability and visibility developed with professional drivers from a motorsports perspective. The center display is tilted toward the driver to consolidate information and controls, and the seating position has been lowered by 25 mm for a sportier driving posture.

The powertrain features a 1.6-liter inline-3 turbocharged engine delivering 304 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, paired with the GR-FOUR sports 4WD system.

A newly developed 8-speed automatic transmission (GR-DAT) allows drivers to focus on steering and pedal work without worrying about shifting. The GR-DAT (GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission) is designed to offer the ease of a two-pedal setup while enhancing performance, particularly through refined gear selection control during sporty driving.

Other updates include the vertical pull parking brake, previously available only as a manufacturer option on the RC grade, now being offered as an option across all grades.

Additionally, Toyota Safety Sense, which was previously an option on the RC grade, is now standard on all models. This includes features such as radar cruise control and pre-collision safety systems.

Why not take a drive in the three-door sports hatchback, the Toyota GR Yaris?
