The Honda CIVIC RS has undergone a minor update.
The CIVIC RS is a sport model that was newly added in September 2024 to coincide with the minor model change of the CIVIC.
The CIVIC RS is offered in a single configuration: a gasoline inline-4 VTEC turbo engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. With its exclusive suspension system and enlarged front disc brake rotors, it delivers a distinct appeal different from the Type R, embodying the character of a true sport sedan.

On the exterior, the CIVIC RS features blackout treatment around the headlamps, along with blacked-out door mirrors and roof antenna. “RS” emblems are fitted at both the front and rear. The low-profile front bumper is aerodynamically styled, and the wheels are finished in Berlina Black with matching black wheel nuts, creating a sleek and aggressive overall appearance.
Among its equipment, the RS includes a rev-match system that automatically adjusts engine rpm during deceleration, making manual driving smoother. It also offers a drive mode selector with “Normal,” “Sport,” “ECON,” and “Individual” settings. The adoption of a more responsive 6-speed manual transmission further enhances driving enjoyment, making it an appealing choice for those who love to drive.

Inside the CIVIC RS, the seats feature suede upholstery with synthetic leather side sections, offering both a refined texture and a sense of luxury. A red accent color is used on the dashboard to create a sporty atmosphere.
The powertrain of the CIVIC RS maintains the same output as other engine grades, with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine producing 182 PS at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 240 N·m between 1,700–4,500 rpm. However, the tuning includes the use of a lightweight single-mass flywheel to improve engine response by allowing quicker drop in revs.
For this update, the clear coat used in the body color has been changed from the conventional acrylic melamine type to a new, more advanced material. As a result, the gloss of the body has been enhanced, and durability has increased by more than 1.5 times compared to the previous material.
Honda also announced that it plans to gradually adopt this new clear material for other models scheduled for release in Japan.
