Toyota ROOMY and Subaru JUSTY Receive Minor Updates
Model Name | ROOMY / JUSTY |
Overview | Little Improvement |
Debut Date | 9 December, 2024 / 12 December, 2024 |

Toyota ROOMY and Subaru JUSTY have undergone minor updates and were released in December 2024.
The ROOMY and JUSTY are compact tall wagons, sold by Toyota and Subaru, respectively, as OEM-supplied models of the Daihatsu THOR, which is developed and manufactured by Daihatsu. These models feature a slightly larger body than kei cars, with practical features such as power sliding doors for easy entry and exit, a 240mm sliding rear seat, and a front seat walk-through function, making them well-suited for families with young children.
The ROOMY lineup includes both standard and custom models with distinct exterior and interior designs. It is available with two engine options: a 1.0L naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0L turbocharged engine. Meanwhile, the JUSTY is offered only in the standard model with a 1.0L naturally aspirated engine. The 1.0L inline-3 DOHC engine produces 69PS and 92Nm of torque, while the 1.0L turbocharged engine generates 98PS and 140Nm of torque. Both 2WD (FF) and 4WD configurations are available. These compact models also benefit from low vehicle taxes due to their small displacement and affordable pricing comparable to kei cars.

For this update, both models comply with the new regulation requiring rear visibility systems for continuously produced vehicles effective November 1, 2024. As a result, a backup camera and a 9-inch display audio system, previously optional, are now standard equipment across all grades. Additionally, two more rear sensors have been added, bringing the total number of rear bumper sensors to four, along with an updated display interface.
To meet new rear-end collision safety requirements, the optional spare tire has been discontinued to prevent interference with the fuel tank in case of impact. Other than minor modifications to the welfare vehicle versions, there are no changes to the interior, exterior, or equipment. The engine specifications remain unchanged, and the body color options continue to include eight solid colors and two two-tone variations.
