On October 31, Mazda announced updates to the compact SUV "MX-30" and introduced the special edition model "Retro Sports Edition," which is now available across all MX-30 powertrains. The Retro Sports Edition blends a retro-modern aesthetic with a sporty touch while enhancing safety, convenience, and comfort for a more secure and enjoyable driving experience.
The MX-30 embodies Mazda's "Multi-Solution Strategy," which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. This approach considers regional energy infrastructure, power generation composition, and the suitability of different power sources, offering a range of models including a mild hybrid, an EV, and a series plug-in hybrid featuring Mazda’s unique rotary engine as a generator.
The exterior of the MX-30 "Retro Sports Edition" features a blacked-out design for the door mirrors, wheels, and front signature elements, with a black central roof section. The model is available in three two-tone body color options: "Zircon Sand Metallic," "Ceramic Metallic," and "Machine Gray Premium Metallic."

Inside, the "Retro Sports Edition" combines terracotta tones with black accents to highlight its sporty character. The seats feature a suede-like Leganu material in the center, complemented by terracotta-colored stitching, creating a refined retro-modern ambiance. Additionally, all models now come equipped with a larger 10.25-inch center display, replacing the previous 8.8-inch version. Connectivity has also been upgraded, with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now supplemented by wireless Apple CarPlay functionality. The USB ports have been updated from USB-Type A to USB-Type C.
In terms of connected services, all grades now come standard with a burglar alarm (without intrusion sensors), enhancing security and peace of mind.
The MX-30 "Retro Sports Edition" also introduces new safety features across all grades. The AT Misacceleration Suppression Control system, which previously detected "vehicles, walls, and other obstacles," now includes "pedestrians (front)" as a detection target. The Driver Monitoring System has been enhanced with a "gaze alert function," which detects driver distraction and issues a visual and auditory warning. Additionally, a new "Rear Seat Alert" feature prompts drivers to check for occupants or forgotten belongings in the rear seats before exiting the vehicle.
Other updates include the introduction of remote engine start functionality for MX-30 M HYBRID models. Using the "My Mazda" app, drivers can now start and stop the engine remotely, even when away from the vehicle.
