On October 16, Suzuki introduced the "FRONX," a new compact SUV designed with a coupe-style concept, combining power, sophistication, and elegance. The FRONX blends easy maneuverability with spacious interiors, creating a new genre of compact SUV. With body dimensions of 3995×1765×1550mm and a minimum turning radius of 4.8 meters, the FRONX is easy to handle in daily life while offering ample legroom in the rear seats.
The exterior of the FRONX features a sleek coupe-style silhouette, complemented by a bold front fascia and sturdy wheel arches with a double-fender design, giving it a distinctive presence even in crowded urban streets. Sharp and advanced LED daytime running lights, along with a horizontally aligned tail lamp, add a touch of modernity and sophistication. The 16-inch aluminum wheels incorporate step-rim machining on the outer edges and closed-spoke designs, enhancing both durability and visual appeal.
Inside, the FRONX sports a black and bordeaux color scheme with high-gloss silver accents, creating a sporty yet refined atmosphere that echoes the SUV's strength. Silver-stitched leather-like and fabric seat covers, along with leather-like door armrests, enhance comfort and quality. The luggage space offers 210 liters of capacity, and the inclusion of a luggage board allows for flexible arrangements to suit various usage scenarios.
The powertrain of the FRONX is equipped with a 1.5-liter inline-4 DOHC "K15C" engine paired with a mild hybrid system that assists with a motor. Coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission, it delivers powerful acceleration along with smooth and sporty driving performance. For the 4WD models, three selectable modes—Snow Mode, Grip Control, and Hill Descent Control—allow the vehicle to adapt to different road conditions. Paddle shifters are included as standard, and a "Sport Mode" enhances throttle response for a more exhilarating driving experience.
In terms of safety, the FRONX comes equipped with the advanced "Dual Sensor Brake Support II," a collision mitigation braking system that uses a millimeter-wave radar and a monocular camera. This system can detect vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycles, even at intersections. Additional safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with full-speed range following and stop-hold functionality, as well as a lane-keeping assist system, both of which are standard on all models.
