On October 31, Mitsubishi launched a significantly updated version of the crossover SUV "OUTLANDER PHEV."

The OUTLANDER PHEV is Mitsubishi Motors' flagship model that embodies the company's advanced electrification and all-wheel control technologies, with the concept of "majestic presence." The current model underwent a full redesign in December 2021, receiving praise for its bold and commanding exterior, premium interior, smooth and powerful performance enabled by the PHEV system, and excellent driving stability achieved through its twin-motor 4WD and S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system.

For the OUTLANDER PHEV's exterior, the front upper grille has been redesigned to a flatter style, while the front and rear skid plates have been reshaped into a more three-dimensional design with a titanium gray finish. Additionally, the rear combination lamps now feature a smoked lens design, and the turn signals and reverse lights have been upgraded to LEDs. The 18-inch and 20-inch aluminum wheels also showcase new designs, and a new body color, "Moonstone Gray Metallic," has been added, inspired by the popular solid color palette.

Inside the OUTLANDER PHEV, the display size of the smartphone-linked navigation system has been enlarged from 9 inches to 12.3 inches. With expanded "MITSUBISHI CONNECT" features, users can now perform Google destination searches and access views such as Street View and aerial photography. Furthermore, the driver's and passenger's seats now include ventilation functions, and a frameless digital rearview mirror has been added. The newly introduced top-grade "P Executive Package" comes with an exclusive interior color, "Brick Brown," and specially designed semi-aniline leather seats. Additionally, the previously restricted two-row, five-seat configuration is now available across all grades.

The audio system in the OUTLANDER PHEV features two types jointly developed with Yamaha, designed specifically for this model. The "Dynamic Sound Yamaha Ultimate," available in the P Executive Package, is equipped with 12 speakers, dual amplifiers, and a sound correction function that automatically adjusts volume and sound quality based on vehicle speed. The standard "Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium" system includes eight speakers, such as rear coaxial speakers with tweeters mounted on the same axis as the woofers.

Regarding the OUTLANDER PHEV's powertrain, the lithium-ion battery has been revamped, increasing capacity by approximately 13% to 22.7 kWh. This results in an EV driving range, based on WLTC mode measurements, of 106 km for the "M" grade and 102 km for other grades, an increase of about 20 km. The maximum output of the entire system has been improved by approximately 20%, with smoother torque characteristics during acceleration, enhancing vehicle stability.

Why not enjoy a drive accompanied by Yamaha’s premium sound quality?
