Toyota has introduced the special edition SPORT RS "THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL," exclusive to the CROWN specialty store "THE CROWN," and it was officially launched on October 10.

In October 2023, Toyota opened "THE CROWN," a dedicated store reflecting the CROWN’s unique world, to coincide with the launch of the "CROWN SPORT." The CROWN SPORT, a crossover SUV, debuted in 2023 as the second model in the current CROWN lineup. The special edition CROWN SPORT RS “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL” has been introduced as a premium model available exclusively at this specialty store.

The CROWN SPORT RS “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL” is based on the SPORT RS grade, which features a 2.5L plug-in hybrid system. This special edition showcases an exclusive exterior color, Matte Metal, and an interior accentuated by a glossy "Black Luster" finish.
While matte black exterior colors have traditionally been difficult to maintain—requiring hand washing and immediate removal of contaminants like bird droppings—the CROWN SPORT RS “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL” incorporates innovative solutions to simplify care. The body’s outermost surface is treated with a "special surface treatment (TM Coat)," applying a thin and uniform protective layer with expert craftsmanship. This provides durable stain resistance and easy cleaning without compromising the matte finish’s aesthetic appeal.

The interior of the CROWN SPORT RS “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL” features exclusive laser-engraved accents on the dashboard, specifically designed for this model. The three-spoke steering wheel is also uniquely decorated, with warm steel trim around the steering switches, dark gray metallic spokes, and light gray stitching, adding a sophisticated touch.
Additionally, a digital key comes as standard equipment. By installing the dedicated app, users can utilize their smartphone as a key. The app allows lock/unlock operations via its interface, and if the smartphone is carried while the app is running, the car can be locked, unlocked, and started without requiring any screen interaction.

The powertrain of the CROWN SPORT RS “THE LIMITED-MATTE METAL” is the same as the base model, featuring a 2.5L inline-4 gasoline engine paired with two motors in a plug-in hybrid configuration. The rear wheels are powered by an electric motor, providing 4WD functionality (E-Four).

In terms of safety, the special edition is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, as standard in the CROWN SPORT RS.
