On July 18, 2024, Mazda introduced minor updates to its compact SUV, the “MAZDA CX-30,” which went on sale on the same day.

The MAZDA CX-30, launched in October 2019 as the second model in Mazda’s new generation lineup, is a crossover SUV based on the Mazda3 Fastback. It features a sleek, flowing body design combined with wide cladding panels on the wheel arches and lower body, giving it a powerful SUV look.

This update revises the model’s grade structure, enhances connected services across all models, and strengthens safety features.

The CX-30 lineup continues to offer the special edition "20S and XD Retro Sports Edition," with the "20S and XD S Package" as the base grade and the "20S and XD Touring" as a higher-grade option with amenities like seat heaters. The lineup now consists of six grades in total. The Retro Sports Edition blends a retro-modern theme with sporty features, the Touring grade offers added comfort with features like seat heaters, and the S Package serves as the base grade with extensive safety features. This simplified grade naming is also used in other Mazda models, like the CX-60.

The powertrains remain unchanged. The XD series uses a 1.8L diesel turbo with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the S series features a 2L gasoline engine paired with a motor and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The updated MAZDA CX-30’s connected services now include "Amazon Alexa" for voice control of functions like the air conditioner, seat heater, steering wheel heater, as well as phone calls and setting navigation destinations. The "Mazda Online Navigation" feature also allows users to check facility information and nearby parking availability through the network.

In terms of safety, Mazda has introduced the "Rear Seat Alert" for the first time in its domestic lineup, a feature that reminds drivers to check for items or passengers left in the back seat.

Other updates include a new "Black Appearance Package" option for the 20S and XD S Package, allowing customers to change the wheels and door mirror covers to black.
