TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) has made some improvements to the GR86, enhancing its cornering performance, ease of handling at the limits, and refining the “GR-like driving experience.” Additionally, a new color option, Ridge Green, has been added. A special edition model, the RZ “Ridge Green Limited,” featuring exclusive bronze wheels and custom interior embroidery, will be released in a limited run of 200 units.

In the recent updates to the Toyota GR86, both MT and AT models have had their shock absorber damping characteristics improved, enhancing the sense of road contact while maintaining the direct handling response typical of sports cars. For MT models, the engine torque control has been adjusted to make blipping easier, a key requirement in motorsports. The new throttle control offers a more direct response to accelerator inputs, improving ease of handling at the limits. In AT models, the engine's rev range has been expanded during downshifting for motorsports, allowing for sportier driving by utilizing a wider torque band. Other features include the addition of a tire pressure monitoring system and daytime running lights.

The Toyota GR86 special edition RZ “Ridge Green Limited” is equipped with 215/40R18 tires and 18x7 1/2J aluminum wheels with bronze coating and center ornament. The interior features a special black and tan color scheme, along with leather seats that have a Black Perforation Ultra Suede with tan accents. Special decorations on the center console and exclusive embroidery for the special edition model are also included.

In the Subaru BRZ updates, a new “SPORT mode” has been introduced for MT models. “SPORT mode” offers throttle settings that ensure the engine responds faithfully to accelerator inputs across the entire rev range. This mode also enhances accelerator control and adjusts the volume of the active sound control, boosting the driver's excitement. For AT models, the manual downshift control's permissible rev range has been expanded, and the damper damping force characteristics in the R, S, and Cup Car Basic grades, excluding STI Sport, have been optimized. Additionally, the EPS (Electric Power Steering) assist characteristics have been optimized for all grades. Other changes include modifications to the turn signal lever operation and the addition of daytime running lights to all grades except the Cup Car Basic.
