Mitsubishi Motors eK X EV Partial Upgrade

Mitsubishi Motors has implemented a partial upgrade to enhance the convenience and safety of the light electric vehicle (EV) "eK X EV."

The "eK X EV" is an EV model based on the light SUV "eK X." It is a sibling model to the Nissan "Sakura," which also won the "2022-2023 Japan Car of the Year" award. The "eK X EV" achieves a daily driving range of 180 km per full charge (WLTC mode), offering spacious and comfortable interior space, smooth and powerful driving unique to EVs, exceptional quietness, good ride comfort, and advanced driving assistance features and connected technology.

In this round of upgrades for the "eK X EV," the Mitsubishi Connect connected service has been enhanced, allowing for various remote operations via smartphone app. A new remote door lock/unlock function has been added alongside existing features such as remote air conditioning control and parking position confirmation, improving daily usability. Additionally, a flat-rate option for in-car Wi-Fi internet connection has been introduced, enabling online video, music, and gaming without concerns over data usage.

In terms of safety features, the "eK X EV" is equipped with Mitsubishi's "e-Assist" driving assistance system, enhancing safety features compliant with the Support Car S Wide standards. It now includes an Emergency Stop Signal System, where the stop lamps automatically flash rapidly when emergency braking or ABS activation occurs, alerting following vehicles.

Further improvements include standard installation of Multi-Around Monitor on P grade and a rear view monitor-equipped room mirror on G grade, enhancing rear visibility. Additional enhancements include the introduction of new colors such as two-tone Ash Green Metallic x White Solid and Lilac Pink Metallic x Black Mica, as well as monotone Ash Green Metallic, bringing the total to 10 body colors (5 two-tone and 5 monotone) available alongside existing options.

There are no changes to the powertrain of the "eK X EV."
