Toyota LAND CRUISER 70 - Now Available

On November 29th, Toyota began sales of the full-scale SUV "LAND CRUISER 70" as a continuing model, with only the "AX" grade being offered.

Since its debut in 1984, the LAND CRUISER 70 series has been well-received for its authentic off-road design, robust frame, high basic performance, and simple parts structure. However, its domestic sales in Japan were discontinued in 2004. In 2014, it was temporarily reintroduced to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 70 series, but now it has made a comeback as a continuing model. While retaining the essence of the LAND CRUISER 70 series, this model has evolved to continue supporting everyday life and local communities.
Furthermore, both the interior and exterior designs have been updated to uphold tradition while pursuing a more rugged off-road character.

In terms of the LAND CRUISER 70's exterior, it retains the signature silhouette of the LAND CRUISER 70 series, characterized by horizontal and vertical lines, creating a functional and highly stable appearance. Additionally, various details have been updated with a contemporary touch.
The body type is limited to the van style, but now it is registered as a 3-number vehicle.
The body colors available include "Beige," "Super White II," and "Attitude Black Mica," offering a total of three options.

Inside the LAND CRUISER 70, the design features a strong horizontal layout and a functional layout tailored for off-road driving. It offers simple operability and adapts to a variety of purposes while incorporating high-quality materials.

Under the hood of the LAND CRUISER 70, it is equipped with a 2.8-liter direct-injection turbocharged diesel engine that combines powerful performance with low fuel consumption. It generates a maximum output of 204 PS and a maximum torque of 500 Nm, delivering the robust off-road capability expected of the LAND CRUISER 70 series.
Additionally, it comes with traditional ladder frame construction, essential electronic locking differentials for tackling rough terrains, and the latest driving and braking control systems.
The included systems feature Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Active TRaction Control (A-TRC), Hill start Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Assist Control (DAC), and more.
Furthermore, a 6-speed automatic transmission is adopted to maintain excellent off-road capability while improving on-road ride comfort.

In terms of safety features, the LAND CRUISER 70 includes a backup monitor and adopts the "Toyota Safety Sense" preventive safety package. It incorporates newly adopted features such as Pre-Collision Safety, Cornering Lights, and Drive Start Control, ensuring safety and peace of mind not only during off-road driving but also during parking and shifting operations.
