Toyota COROLLA CROSS Gets Partial Upgrade

Toyota has refreshed the powertrain and enhanced safety features and connectivity functions for the COROLLA CROSS.

The COROLLA CROSS is a compact crossover SUV produced and sold by Toyota. The first-generation COROLLA CROSS was introduced in September 2021. It strikes a balance in body size, not being too large or too small among Toyota's SUV lineup, making it a reassuring size even for those new to SUVs. Despite its well-balanced size, the interior is spacious, and its high level of livability is one of its appealing features.

In terms of the COROLLA CROSS's exterior, it emphasizes typical SUV elements such as grilles and wheel arches. The interior of the COROLLA CROSS boasts a wide field of vision thanks to its high seating position, characteristic of SUVs. The front seats offer excellent visibility due to thin front pillars and a clean instrument panel, making it a driver-friendly space. The rear seats ensure ease of entry and exit by extending the rear doors vertically, and they come with a reclining mechanism. Additionally, an optional panoramic sunroof provides an exceptional sense of openness. With all seats in use, the luggage compartment has a capacity of 487 liters, and folding the rear seats creates an even larger space. The luggage opening is set at a height of 72 cm from the ground, making it easy to load and unload items.

Other features include a display audio system compatible with connected navigation and an optional 10.5-inch large screen display. The meter panel has been fully digitized, and the Z-grade comes standard with a 12.3-inch TFT color multi-information display, improving visibility. Furthermore, eight exterior body colors are available, including the new Massive Gray, and three two-tone options have been added for hybrid models.

In terms of powertrains, the COROLLA CROSS hybrid models now feature a revamped 1.8-liter hybrid system with all electric modules updated in this upgrade, achieving both high fuel efficiency and output. For gasoline engine models, the previous 1.8-liter engine has been replaced with a more fuel-efficient and powerful 2.0-liter Dynamic Force Engine.

In the safety department, the COROLLA CROSS adopts the "Toyota Safety Sense" driver assistance system, which includes proactive driving assist to support steering and braking operations, as well as additional features like pre-collision safety, which detects oncoming straight-ahead vehicles when making right turns at intersections and detects pedestrians crossing in the opposite direction during right and left turns, expanding its functionality.
