Subaru Introduces the LAYBACK.

The Subaru LEVORG LAYBACK is a crossover model that elevates the sports wagon 'LEVORG,' increasing its ride height and minimum ground clearance and adding an SUV flair.

The name LAYBACK originates from the English expression 'laid back,' which conveys a sense of 'relaxing,' 'leisurely,' or 'being able to relax.' It embodies a sentiment valuing abundant, comfortable time and space. The LAYBACK serves as Subaru's first SUV model that places a strong emphasis on an urban image.

In the exterior of the Subaru LEVORG LAYBACK, the design concept follows the principles of "Dignified" and "Enveloping." It couples the innovativeness and sportiness intrinsic to the LEVORG with the LAYBACK’s unique spaciousness and generosity. By adopting LAYBACK-exclusive design features such as front and rear bumpers, aluminum wheels, front grill, side skirts, and cladding, it realizes a premium crossover style without losing its earthy quality. The body size, which is L x W x H = 4770 x 1820 x 1570mm, manages to maintain the LEVORG's easy handling while slightly expanding its overall length and width. To ensure the traversability typical of crossover models, the minimum ground clearance is set at 200mm, 55mm higher than the base LEVORG model, and the ride height has also been increased by 70mm.

Inside the Subaru LEVORG LAYBACK, the adoption of an ash interior color and a contrasting copper stitch are the major highlights, marking a first for Subaru vehicles. The foundational warm color scheme is slightly tinged with blue, establishing a color coordination unique to the LAYBACK. Although it’s a model with a high seating position, it realizes excellent ease of entry and exit by modifying the front seat design: suppressing the protrusion on the left and right of the seat surface and eliminating support wires while adding insert wires to the seat cushion pad, achieving a balance between moderate hold and easy ingress and egress.

In terms of the power unit of the Subaru LEVORG LAYBACK, it employs only a 1.8-liter horizontally opposed 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, and for the undercarriage, it adopts a suspension with unique settings that focus on both high maneuverability, a comfortable ride, and traversability on rough and snowy roads.

Moreover, the advanced driver-assistance system employs the latest generation of 'EyeSight,' equipped with a wide-angle monocular camera and a driver anomaly detection system. The multi-view monitor system is equipped with features like a 3D view, top view, and a low-speed auto-display function for the front view.

The grade configuration of the Subaru LEVORG LAYBACK is exclusively 'Limited EX,' characterized by its comprehensive equipment.
