The fourth generation Alphard is now available!
In June 2023, Toyota Motor Corporation fully remodeled the Alphard.
The Alphard is "Toyota's top-of-the-line minivan" introduced in 2002. With this model change, it is now in its fourth generation.
The exterior of the Alphard retains the basic design of the previous three generations, with a front grille that is even larger than that of its predecessor, extending the area under the headlights. It also features a three-dimensional, blocky pattern and a design that integrates the clearance lamps and blinkers.
The front features three odd-shaped LED headlamps with sharp eyes, and the rear features large rear combination lamps that shine seamlessly.
In addition, the emblem has been changed from the "α" used on the first generation to the Toyota mark.
The unique alpha emblem, which symbolizes the Alphard through the previous generation, has been moved from the front to under the side B pillars.
The interior design of the Alphard was developed based on the concept of "delivering experience value appropriate for each seat," with a driver's space that gives the owner a sense of superiority and a rear seat space that provides relaxation and hospitality for guests.
Particularly comfortable features include "universal steps" that appear in conjunction with the doors and long-sized assist grips for getting in and out of the car, which provide excellent ease of entry and exit for everyone.
Once in the vehicle, it is loaded with features that provide relaxation and hospitality, such as a left and right independent moonroof that emphasizes space for each seat, descent-type side sunshades for rear seats, and executive power seats with increased comfort.
The new "Super Long Overhead Console" is a console that consolidates functions such as lighting, various switches, and air conditioner outlets, which were previously scattered throughout the ceiling, into the center of the vehicle. This console is designed to provide both a high level of design and ample space.
The Alphard's powertrain consists of a hybrid system of a newly developed 2.5L in-line 4-cylinder Dynamic Force engine and a motor that uses a nickel-metal hydride battery, and a 2.5L in-line 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. All grades offer a choice of 2WD or 4WD.
In addition to Toyota Safety Sense, the Alphard's safety features include "Constant Steering Support for Driving in Lane" and "Deceleration Assistance for Right/Left Turns at Signal Intersections" that assists the driver in turning right or left when the car detects the approach to a signal intersection by decelerating in advance according to the driver's blinker operation in addition to the accelerator release. This is an enhanced version with the addition of "deceleration support for right/left turns at signal intersections. The hybrid model also features the "Toyota Teammate" advanced driving support technology.
