MAZDA2 Full model change!
Launched in 2014, the MAZDA2 is the fourth generation model counting from the first-generation Demio and is positioned as an entry-level model for the Mazda brand while incorporating Skyactiv technology.
The exterior of the new MAZDA2 does not alter the stylish basic design of its predecessor, the MAZDA2, but the grille and front and rear bumpers have been changed, and the new MAZDA2 comes in three grades: the quality-enhanced Sunlit Citrus, the sporty SPORT, and the new BD grade. The new MAZDA2 "SPORT" is available in three grade configurations.
The new MAZDA2 "SPORT" is an evolution of the previous special edition "Black Tone Edition" and expresses a sporty character based on a new body color, "Aero Gray," with a mesh grille and various parts in black. It also features newly designed 16-inch aluminum wheels. Red accents are used on the grille and other parts.
The interior of the "SPORT" grade features intrepid black leather with red accents, expressing a legitimate sporty feel.
The new MAZDA2 "BD" grade is a new value concept aimed at younger customers. BD" stands for "blank deck," a term derived from skateboarding. The new Mazda2 "BD" stands for "blank deck," a term derived from skateboarding. To meet a variety of values and preferences, customers can choose from a total of 198 color-coordinated options for the front grille, wheels, roof, and other parts.
The interior of the new MAZDA2 "BD" features a black base color, with the instrument panel and kneepads available in black, white, or Airstream Blue.
The Sunlit Citrus grade offers a leather steering wheel and shift knob as standard equipment, while power seats and safety features are also standard, further enhancing the luxury and quality feel of this grade.
The new MAZDA2's powertrains include a 1.5-liter straight-4 gasoline naturally aspirated engine and a diesel turbo engine.
Grades equipped with the 1.5-liter engine will be given the 15 designation, while grades equipped with the diesel turbo engine will be given the XD designation.
As part of efforts to improve the environmental impact and productivity of the new MAZDA2, the two-tone coating on the roof has been replaced by a film, which has achieved a significant reduction in co2.
And by adopting instrument panel decoration panels that utilize "bio-engine plastic," which has a low environmental impact, we were also able to realize cost improvements at the component level.
The new MAZDA2 is available in a wide variety of arrangements; it's hard to decide which color to choose!
