On December 22, 2022, Subaru started to sale the "XT-EDITION," Forester special edition.

Forester is a middle-class crossover SUV manufactured and sold from Subaru since 1997. The current Forester is the 5th generation, started to sale in 2018, and has facelift changed in 2021, with the latest model being a partially improved model in August 2022.

The special edition XT-EDITION model sold this time is a special model commemorating the 50th anniversary of the SUBARU AWD vehicle. Based on the "SPORT" grade, the exterior has been changed to unpainted black with new front grille wings and electric power-folding door mirrors. The front emblem (Japanese are saying it "Six-Star") has been changed to dark chrome and the roof antenna to colored. In addition, the front fog lamp covers, rear bumper guard, rear garnish, roof rail, and roof spoiler have been painted black. Dark metallic 18-inch aluminum wheels are exclusively designed.

Four body colors are available: Crystal White Pearl, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, and Geyser Blue, a special color available for the North American model and a first for the Japanese model.

For the interior, the instrument panel decoration panel, ventilation grille decoration, and chrome inner door handles have been changed to blaze gun metallic, and the center tray decoration has been changed to aluminum tone and artificial leather with silver stitching. Cargo room lamps are LED.

The seats are black water-repellent fabric/artificial leather. In addition, LED rear liftgate lamps (linked to the rear liftgate) and water-repellent cargo floorboards (with luggage smoother function) are specially equipped.

As for safety features, EyeSight Safety Plus (vision enhancement, front view monitor + smart rear view mirror), a factory-installed option for the base grade, is also specially equipped to enhance safety features.

In terms of powertrains, there are two types: the 1.8-liter turbo engine and the e-BOXER, a hybrid of a 2-liter engine + motor. The transmission is CVT "Lineartronic," and the 4WD drive system is remain unchanged. The "X-MODE" system, which enhances rough road drivability at the touch of a button, is also standard equipment.

The Forester XT-EDITION is the 50th anniversary model of SUBARU AWD vehicles, and Subaru fans may be interested in this model.
