Partially improved Lexus RX

Lexus has upgraded the RX with enhanced preventive safety equipment.

The Lexus RX is a large luxury crossover SUV of Toyota Motor Corporation's Lexus brand, the first generation of which was introduced in 1997 and was sold as the "Toyota Harrier" only in Japan until the second generation. The RX was first introduced to the Japanese market in January 2009 with the third generation model. The current model will become the fifth generation in 2022.

The exterior of the fifth-generation RX features a "spindle body" with the chrome frame removed from the "spindle grille" and a "seamless grille" that integrates the body and grille by using the same body color to the lower edge of the mark. The rear design is characterized by full-LED rear combination lamps that wrap around to the sides of the body in a single letter.
As for the fifth-generation RX's powertrains, the existing V6 model has been eliminated, and all models now have only an inline 4-cylinder engine. The lineup consists of three models: the RX350 gasoline model, the RX450h+ plug-in hybrid model, the first plug-in hybrid model for the RX, and the RX500h hybrid model, which is based on the same engine as the gasoline model.

In the latest partial improvement, parking support brake (for stationary objects and vehicles approaching from behind) [PKSB] and blind spot monitor [BSM] are now standard on all models, enhancing the preventive safety equipment.
The parking support brake system mitigates collisions caused by mis-step or over-step on the accelerator pedal and helps reduce damage.
The Blind Spot Monitor system uses radar to detect vehicles in the adjacent lane and detects vehicles in the rearward area that are difficult to see with the door mirrors as well as those approaching rapidly.
When a vehicle is detected, an LED indicator in the door mirror lights up to notify the driver.
In addition, the vehicle is equipped with pre-crash safety [PCS], which supports collision avoidance and damage mitigation, radar cruise control (with all-speed follow-up function), lane departure alert [LDA], and driver error response system, as in the previous model.

In addition, an accessory power outlet (100 VAC, 1500 W) has been added to the front center console and luggage compartment to improve convenience when using electrical appliances outdoors or as an emergency power source in the event of a disaster.

Why not go for a winter drive in the safer Lexus RX?
