"RS" type has been added to Honda Fit!

Honda Fit underwent a minor change in October 2022 with the addition of "RS". The Fit RS, which has been revived for the first time in two and a half years, is a model that is even more particular about design and driving.

The Honda Fit is currently in its 4th generation, and in this minor change, some design modifications have been made, and the driving performance of the hybrid model has been improved. In addition, the new Fit RS is currently only e:HEV, but in November 2022, a model equipped with a gasoline engine will also be announced. The transmission does not have a 6MT setting like before, it will be only CVT.

The exterior of the RS is extensively equipped: a special mesh front grille, black front bumper, side sill garnishes, rear bumper and rear spoiler, exhaust pipe finishers and RS emblems. In addition, 16-inch aluminum wheels designed exclusively for RS are also installed, emphasizing sportiness. The styling feature of the RS is that it has a mesh grille, while the standard Fit models "BASIC" and "HOME" do not have a grille. The body color of the new Fit RS is a total of six colors, including the new color Slate Gray Pearl.

The RS interior uses an RS-exclusive genuine leather three-spoke steering wheel. Other special touches include prime smooth and Ultrasuede seats and yellow stitching throughout the interior. The drive mode selector switch on the lower left of the meter can also be selected from 3 patterns of "Normal", "Sports'' and "ECON" exclusively for RS.

Other grades are "Normal" and "ECON" only. Other functions include a deceleration selector that allows you to select the strength of deceleration in four stages with the paddle on the steering wheel when the accelerator is off.

The powertrain of the e:HEV RS will be Honda's own hybrid system, with an engine and two electric motors for drive and power generation. The engine normally works to charge the drive battery, and is only used for driving when the accelerator pedal is heavily depressed, such as on highways. With this minor change, the maximum output of the e:HEV's drive motor is 14 PS plus 123 PS compared to the conventional model, and the power generation capacity of the engine and power generation motor has been increased. In addition, the suspension has been replaced with an RS-specific suspension that suppresses the shaking of the vehicle on rough roads.

The safe driving support system "Honda Sensing" now has a traffic congestion support function and a sudden acceleration control function as standard in addition to the conventional functions.
