The new Civic Type R is based on the "Civic Hatchback" released in 2021 and is the only sports model in Honda's current lineup.

As for the exterior, the fender outer and rear door were newly designed exclusively for the new Civic Type R. Compared to the base car, it has a powerful form with wide fenders. In particular, the rear is equipped with a rear spoiler designed exclusively for the new Civic Type R. By adjusting the dent on the top surface and the bulge on the bottom surface, the wing cross-sectional shape has been further brushed up from the previous model.
The exhaust has the same three tailpipes as the previous generation, but the structure has been revised to make the center thicker, and the exhaust sound is more powerful.
The interior uses the traditional red interior of the Type R. The distinctive red front seats have been redesigned to a more vivid and uplifting red than the previous model, and the red floor mats are also used to make the red interior stand out even more.
The front seats have been reinforced with top priority on posture retention and support, from circuits to long drives. The rear seats have a suede-like surface that is slip-resistant and holds well.
The engine is based on the previous 2L 4-cylinder DOHC VTEC turbo engine and has a renewed turbocharger. It achieves a maximum output of 330ps and a maximum torque of 420 Nm, making it the top output among front-wheel-drive vehicles on the market.
In addition to the existing three driving modes of "COMFORT", "SPORT" and "+R", a new "INDIVIDUAL" mode has been added that allows six driving parameters to be customized according to the driver's preferences. The contents set in INDIVIDUAL mode are retained even when the engine is restarted, so you can always enjoy driving as you like.
A new feature of the new Civic Type R is "Honda LogR". This function is standard equipment in the in-vehicle navigation app, automatically analyzes driving data, and converts it into a score using Honda's unique logic. In daily driving scenes, you can aim for smooth and sharp driving by using the "Auto Score function" that automatically scores acceleration and turning.
Safety performance is equipped with advanced Honda SENSING suitable for Honda's top sports car. In addition, various detection capabilities have been enhanced to support safe driving: a front wide-view camera with a wide horizontal angle of view, a millimeter-wave radar inside the corner of the rear bumper, and sonar sensors on the front and rear.
