Honda Step WGN has undergone a full model change!
The Honda Step WGN was released in 1996 as the third "Creative Mover" following the Odyssey and CR-V. This time, the 6th generation new model has appeared.
This new model, which was developed with the concept of "nice living", has a larger body size than the conventional model. The total length of the new Step WGN is 4800-4830 mm, the total width is 1750 mm, and the total height is 1840-1855 mm. This size realizes the largest interior space ever for Honda cars sold in Japan.
There are two types of lineup, the basic "Air" and the "Spada" that emphasizes strength, and the "Premium Line" with advanced specifications is also set for the Spada.
The exterior of the new Step WGN features a simple design overall. The Air has a clean image and a fine plated molding to express the high quality, and the Spada has a thick front grille and aerodynamic parts to add strength. The Spada Premium line adds a touch of class with large diameter 17-inch aluminum wheels and platinum-like chrome-plated decoration.
In the interior of the new Step WGN, the Air expresses a feeling of security like a living room with fabric trim and warm interior color settings.
The Spada is a stylish dark tone color, and the Spada Premium line is equipped with a combination sheet of suede-like fabric and synthetic leather.
Another feature of the new Step WGN is that the instrument panel, door trim, and side window notches are all arranged in a horizontal tone.
In the seat arrangement, the 7-seater second-row captain seat uses a long slide mechanism of up to 865 mm. This seat is equipped with a slide mechanism in the left-right direction, so various arrangements are possible: Bring the left seat in the second row where the child sits closer to the driver's seat, lower the captain seat to the rear end to enjoy a large foot space, and alternate the second and third row seats to enjoy a personal space.
For the third row seats, the seating position will be higher, and the front seats and headrest shape will be reviewed to ensure an open view. By adopting a thick seat cushion, a comfortable seating is also realized. The storage method is the same as before, with a 6: 4 split underfloor storage type.
There are two types of power units for the new Step WGN: a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a hybrid system "e: HEV" that combines a 2-liter naturally aspirated engine and a motor.
With a 1.5-liter turbo engine, 4WD vehicles are also available.
The fuel efficiency is 13.2 to 13.9km/l for 1.5-liter turbo FF vehicles and 19.5 to 20.0km/l for hybrid FF vehicles.
In the preventive safety and driving support system of the new Step WGN, the functions have been expanded from the conventional type, and the adaptive cruise control has evolved with a traffic jam tracking function in all grades.
In addition, 6 functions have been added. Rear false start suppression function: short-range collision mitigation brake, auto high beam, traffic jam assist, multi-view camera system, blind spot information.
