The first Escudo was introduced in 1988 and is the car that built up the genre that was the basis of the current crossover SUV called Light Crocan.
In this improvement, the powertrain of the 4th generation Escudo, 1.4 liter gasoline turbo engine, has been changed to a new strong hybrid system that combines a 1.5 liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. In addition, the lineup is only one type of 4WD car like the conventional model.
In the exterior of the Escudo, the headlights have been changed to LED and a blue line has been added, and a hybrid emblem has been added to the rear gate. In addition, the spoke design of the aluminum wheels has been changed.
In the interior, a hybrid-related display has been added to the multi-information display, and the shift knob decoration has been changed to a satin-plated ornament.
The 1.5-liter strong hybrid newly installed in the Escudo is a combination of a 1.5-liter dual jet engine, one motor for driving, and a MT-based semi-AT 6-speed AGS (auto gear shift).
The 6-speed AGS is a transmission that combines the advantages of MT and AT, achieving smooth acceleration with 6-step gears and improved fuel efficiency due to high transmission efficiency. In manual mode, the paddle shift operation is direct like MT. You can enjoy a sensational response.
In addition, with this improvement, Suzuki is the first Suzuki vehicle to adopt a "regenerative cooperative brake" that integrates and controls a regenerative brake that generates electricity with a motor during deceleration and a friction brake.
This is also the first Suzuki hybrid vehicle to be able to drive on EV when reversing.
The driving mode installed this time is equipped with a mode that switches between the eco mode, which increases the frequency of EV driving, and the standard mode, which is a powerful and sharp driving, depending on the driving situation.
In addition, Suzuki's original four-wheel control system "ALL GRIP" installed in Escudo has four driving modes, and "AUTO" mode performs EV driving and motor assist according to the depression of the accelerator, "SPORT". The mode is aggressive motor assist, keeping the engine speed high and producing agile driving. "SNOW" mode is a mode that emphasizes grip force suitable for snowy roads, suppresses tire slippage by traction control, changes torque distribution to the rear wheels according to driving conditions, and improves driving stability. "LOCK" mode is a mode that supports emergency escape when stuck on a muddy or snowy road.
Escudo's safety equipment is equipped with a preventive safety and driving support system "Suzuki Safety Support" and a "sign recognition function" that displays road signs read by the camera on the monitor.
Let's go camping with the eco-friendly Escudo.
