Daihatsu's kei one-box "ATRAI" has undergone a full model change for the first time in 17 years.
Like the fully remodeled "HIJET CARGO", the new ATRAI has a new platform to "DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture)" and adopts a CVT for FR. Improved fuel efficiency, running, and quietness. In addition, safety performance has been improved by adopting the latest evolved "Smart Assist".
The concept of the new ATRAI is "multi-box that can be used up". The classification of the ATRAI wagon has been changed to kei truck in order to take advantage of the large luggage space unique to commercial vehicles and the maximum load capacity of 350kg.
The exterior of the new ATRAI is a commercial vehicle with the engine mounted under the front seats, so it features a short bonnet. LED headlamps are standard equipment on all grades, and a wealth of decorative parts for the plated front grille and ATRAI-specific parts are used.
Six body colors are available, including the new Tonico Orange Metallic, Shining White Pearl, and Offbeat Khaki Metallic.
The interior of the new ATRAI features highly visible twin-lens meters and a TFT color multi-information display. Plating and silver decorations have been applied to create a cozy atmosphere. The front seats are generous in size, but due to the change in classification to Kei truck, the rear seats have less legroom and lack the space between the floor and the seat, making them more cramped than the previous ATRAI wagon.
