Mazda has partially improved the compact convertible sports cars "Mazda Roadster (soft top model)" and "Mazda Roadster RF (retractable hard top model)".
Since its first debut in 1989, the Mazda Roadster has been sold as a two-seater compact convertible sports car for four generations.
In this improvement of the Roadster, new technology is adopted to further evolve the concept of the 4th generation Roadster, "Joy of the Moment, Joy of Life". In addition, we have added two special-purpose vehicles and one new model to suit the diverse values and lifestyles of users.
The new technology Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) newly adopted for the Roadster is stable and enhances the sense of unity in high-speed cornering while taking advantage of the Roadster's suspension structure that moves smoothly in everyday areas. It is a technology that realizes a smooth turning posture. KPC-equipped vehicles maintain a relaxed and nimble behavior in everyday situations, while reducing the lift of the vehicle body during hard driving and improving the feeling of ground contact.
Two types of special-purpose vehicles are available. The 990S is a model based on the lightest grade "S" (990kg) with a reduced unsprung weight and a special chassis and engine setting.
The "Navy Top" is a model that combines a dark blue hood and a black leather interior.
In addition, the "RF VS Terracotta Selection" will be a new model that uses "terracotta" as the interior color.
The Roadster special specification car "990S" is based on the lightest grade "S" that pursues "fun by being light", further reducing unsprung weight, and setting the chassis and engine exclusively for lightness. As a result, it is lighter and realizes a driving that gives the "human-horse sense of unity" that is characteristic of Mazda vehicles.
RAYS forged 16-inch aluminum wheels (RAYS ZE40 RS) are used for the wheels, achieving a weight reduction of approximately 3.2 kg.
The interior is equipped with a blue / piano black air conditioner louver bezel, and the hood is also dark blue to express a sense of unity.
Another special edition "Roadster Navy Top" is based on the Roadster S Leather PKG. Featuring a combination of an elegant dark blue hood and black leather interior, it is a limited-time sale model for about half a year, tailored to a cool and urban look.
The new model "RF VS Terracotta Selection" is based on the hardtop model Roadster RF, using nappa leather with a smooth touch and outstanding quality for the interior, and adopting a bright new color "terracotta" for the interior color. It is a model that stylishly colors a relaxing adult holiday.
