This is the first model change of ALTO in 7 years, and it is the 9th generation in history.
The conventional ALTO was a model with a strong practical orientation with a view to business use, but the new model has a stronger personal feeling in various aspects.
The exterior of the new ALTO has a rounded design everywhere, making it a voluminous exterior. In particular, the rear has undergone considerable design changes, the unique tail lamp has been moved to the top, and the rear bumper has also been changed to a soft image, making it a modern and slightly present design.
The tire size has been increased by 1 inch from 13 inches to 14 inches (155 / 65R14).
Eight body colors are available, and new colors "Dusk Blue Metallic" and "Soft Beige Metallic" have also been added. In addition, a two-tone color with the roof painted white is also available.
In the interior of the new ALTO, the interior space has been expanded to 45 mm in height and 25 mm in width.
The basic layout is the same as the conventional type, but the new model has a three-dimensional instrument panel design, a cup holder is newly equipped on the instrument panel, and an accessory case is installed in front of the passenger seat, improving usability.
In addition, the glass area has been expanded and the field of view has become wider.
Vehicles equipped with an "omnidirectional monitor camera" that displays blind spots that are difficult to see when passing each other are set.
You can also install "7-inch display audio" as a manufacturer option.
For the powertrain of the new ALTO, we have set the grade that adopted the mild hybrid system for the first time as ALTO. The mild hybrid system is equipped with a generator with a motor function to support power generation during deceleration, restart after idling stop, and engine drive. Compared to energy charges, mild hybrids are said to have a greater effect on fuel efficiency savings.
As for the safety function, the new ALTO is equipped with the driving support package "Safety Support" and "6 airbags" as standard equipment.
Safety support includes automatic braking for pedestrian detection. The six airbags are "driver / passenger seat SRS airbags," "front seat SRS side airbags," and "SRS curtain airbags."
The front monitoring sensor used in the safety support is a stereo camera, and the standard equipment functions are automatic braking when moving forward and backward, suppressing false start when moving forward and backward, lane departure warning, notification of starting the preceding vehicle, and stagger warning.
