Toyota and Daihatsu's popular compact SUVs have been added to the lineup with a new hybrid system for the first time in history. In addition, the 2WD model of the gasoline engine adopts a newly developed 3-cylinder 1.2-liter engine, and the conventional 1.0-liter turbo engine is equipped only with 4WD.
Both Raize / Rocky's new hybrid e-SMART HYBRID are equipped with a 1.2L gasoline engine dedicated to power generation. It will be a series-type hybrid system that runs on a 100% motor using the electricity generated by the engine. Unlike conventional hybrids such as the Prius, the output from the engine is not used directly as the force to drive the tires.
The newly developed 3-cylinder 1.2-liter engine is available in two types: the base "WA-VE" type and the "WA-VEX" type optimized for hybrids. It is a newly developed engine that focuses on power performance, fuel efficiency, light weight and compactness, and quietness.
The 2WD model's 1.2-liter gasoline engine has significantly increased torque, and compared to the current 1.0-liter turbo engine, the torque increase at low engine speeds has increased. At the same time, it achieves powerful and smooth acceleration in the low speed range, making it easy to drive and handle.
In the hybrid system, a newly developed 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine is combined with two motors, and the battery uses a lithium-ion battery with high energy density. By arranging the battery under the rear seat cushion, a hybrid is realized while ensuring a spacious interior and luggage compartment capacity.
For hybrid vehicles, we have also adopted the "Smart Pedal (S-PDL)," which allows you to obtain a strong deceleration force simply by depressing the accelerator pedal.
There are two driving modes to choose from: "normal mode", which features powerful acceleration, and "eco mode," which is fuel-efficient.
Raize / Rocky's preventive safety and driving support system "Smart Assist" is standard equipment on all models and has enhanced functions. Collision warnings and automatic emergency braking are also available for pedestrians at night. At the same time, the types of traffic signs that can be read by the sign recognition function have also increased. In addition, for adaptive cruise control that supports all vehicle speeds, the adoption of an electric parking brake has made it possible to maintain the brakes when the vehicle is stopped. Especially, the convenience during traffic jams is improved.
Furthermore, as for equipment, a welcome lamp function that turns on the room lamp when approaching a locked vehicle with the key is standard equipment on all vehicles. The hybrid vehicle is equipped with a headlamp lighting extension function that illuminates the feet of the occupants after getting off, and an accessory outlet (AC100V / 1500W / with emergency power supply system) is adopted as an option.
In addition, "Smooth Gray Mica Metallic" has been newly set as the body color.
