Toyota has released the "GRANACE" with some improvements.
In this improvement, a passenger seat foldable headrest is adopted to secure a wide field of view from the rear seat, and a power seat switch is added to the driver's side shoulder opening of the passenger seat to facilitate passenger seat operation by the driver.
GRANACE is Toyota's large minivan based on HIACE. It was exhibited for reference at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show and was released in December of the same year.GRANACE has been developed as a luxury minivan that mainly meets business needs, such as hotel transfers and already-introduced limousines.
In the exterior, it is a full-size wagon with a total length of 5300 mm and a total width of 1970 mm, which is one size larger than the "ALPHARD", and features a strong front circumference with metal decoration. The metallic molding at the bottom of the body, the L-shaped rear combination lamp and the garnish create a dignified and high-quality feel.
In the interior of the GRANACE, there are two types, the "G" with 4-row seats for 8 people and the "Premium" with 3-row seats for 6 people. The 3-row, 6-seater has excellent storage capacity, such as the ability to stand up and load a suitcase of approximately 90 liters while ensuring ample rear seat space.
In addition, the second and third rows of the 6-seater specification are large-sized exclusive captain seats made of genuine leather named "Executive Power Seats", which have an electric adjustment mechanism, an ottoman, and a long slide mechanism, respectively. Includes comfortable heating seats and a retractable table.
In the 8-seater model, only the second row is the executive power seat, and the third row is the "relax captain seat" that can be operated manually. The 4th row uses a 60:40 split tip-up seat that allows the seat to pop up with a single touch. The feature is that it can flexibly accommodate the number of passengers and the baggage to be loaded.
The opening width of the sliding door is 1000 mm, which makes it easy to get in. In addition, metal or wood grain decorations are used in places in the cockpit and cabin to express high quality.
The power unit of GRANACE is only 2.8 liter clean diesel "1GD", and the transmission is 6-speed AT. The driving system is FR, and the selling point is the ease of handling, with a minimum turning radius of 5.6 m for vehicles equipped with 17-inch wheels.In addition, the high-rigidity body and thorough anti-vibration and sound insulation measures provide a comfortable ride suitable for a luxury wagon.
Regarding the safety aspect of GRANACE, it is equipped with the advanced preventive safety package "Toyota Safety Sense" that targets pedestrians (day and night) and bicycle drivers (daytime). It is also equipped with a rear cross traffic autobrake that prevents collisions with vehicles approaching from the left and right when reversing in the parking lot, and a digital inner mirror that captures the rear view with a camera.
