Mitsubishi DELICA D:5 Receives Updates and Introduces Special Edition "BLACK Edition"

Mitsubishi Motors announced on November 7, 2024, that it has introduced the special edition "BLACK Edition" for the minivan DELICA D:5, while also adding an 8-seater configuration to the existing special edition "Chamonix," which was previously available only as a 7-seater.

The DELICA D:5 is a one-box minivan based on the SUV Outlander, developed with the concept of merging "the comfort of a minivan" with "the rugged strength of an SUV." The first-generation model debuted in 1968 as the "DELICA Coach," a 9-passenger commercial van derived from the "DELICA Truck." It was designed with the philosophy of safely transporting multiple passengers in various driving conditions while maintaining off-road capability. The current fifth-generation model was introduced in January 2007, and in February 2019, it underwent a major facelift featuring the "Dynamic Shield" front design and vertically arranged multi-LED headlights.

The DELICA D:5 special edition "BLACK Edition" features a black-themed dress-up design. Based on the highest-grade "P" 7-seater variant, this edition comes with a front grille, position lamp garnish, fog lamp bezel, door mirror covers, outer door handles, and front and rear skid plates all finished in "Black Mica." It also includes 18-inch aluminum wheels with a black-painted finish. The body color options available for the BLACK Edition include "Black Mica," "White Diamond," and "Graphite Gray Metallic / Black Mica" (two-tone).

For the interior, the DELICA D:5 BLACK Edition features burl wood accent panels on the instrument panel and door trims, while also coming standard with black leather seats, which were previously available only as a manufacturer option. Additionally, a "Black Nut & Emblem Package" is offered as an option, which includes a silver/black engine hood emblem, black wheel lock and lug nuts, and a silver/black body side emblem.

The DELICA D:5 BLACK Edition is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-4 DOHC 16-valve diesel turbo engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and is available exclusively in a 4WD configuration.
