The Yaris Cross is priced from 1,798,000 JPY to 2,815,000 JPY, so it is an intermediate price between the two models.

What makes the Yaris Cross a huge hit, even with these types of cars? Let's find out the reality of Yaris Cross in terms of function, appearance and interior, etc.



There are two types of Yaris Crosses: petrol and hybrid cars.

The average fuel economy of a gasoline car is between 17.4 and 20.2 km/l in the catalog.

The average fuel economy of hybrid cars ranges from between 26.0 and 30.8 km/l, which is quite high for both types.

The Prius, also a Toyota hybrid, has a fuel economy of between 27.2 and 32.1 km/l.

The seriousness and enthusiasm that Toyota has put into this car is evident in the fact that it achieves such high fuel economy despite being a compact SUV.

The Yaris Cross is also equipped with the latest safety features called 'Pre-Crash Safety'.

Pre-Crash Safety is a system that detects oncoming traffic at intersections and pedestrians crossing from the opposite direction when turning right or left.

The safety features are quite high, as the system alerts the driver to a potential collision with a buzzer and display, and then activates the Pre-Crash Brakes to help avoid or mitigate the damage. (Installed to all grade except X窶ｳB package窶ｳ)

Experior

This is what the front looks like. The car's name is Yaris Cross, so it's a sibling of the Yaris, but I still think the Yaris Cross has a more upscale feel to it. Personally, I was very attracted to the design of the of the car.



The design is reminiscent of the new Harrier, and I think it's a design that doesn't seem like a compact SUV.

The body size of the Yaris Cross is 4.180 mm (Length) x 1.765 mm (Height) x 1.560 mm (Width), and the wheelbase is 2,560 mm, which is the 3 number (The type of license plate in Japan).

The fuel economy, performance, and design are rated perfectly. However, there were a few disappointments in the interior.

Interior

The instrument panel of the Yaris Cross shares the same design as the Yaris. One of the things we found most disappointing was the shift lever.

This shift lever is the same on all grades. Even though the most expensive grade has a price tag of over 2.8 million JPY, I found this shift lever to be cheaply made.

Another negative point is that the back seats are narrow.



The Yaris Cross is marketed as a 5 seater car, but it's very unlikely to be able to accommodate 5 people. Even if I could, I felt it was the best I could do for an elementary school student.

And the lack of legroom and the fact that it's a bit cramped is another disappointment.

But there is a lot of space in the cargo capacity.

The cargo capacity of Yaris Cross is 390 liters, while the CH-R is 318 liters. Yaris Cross is much wider.

And I could carry two full-size golf bags with plenty of room to spare without having to fold down the back seat, so I still felt quite happy with the cargo capacity.

I introduced the function, exterior, and interior of the Yaris Cross.

Personally speaking, I was concerned about the design of the shift lever and the narrowness of the back seats, but I felt that it was a very attractive car in terms of fuel efficiency, performance, price, and appearance. It's a nod to wait three months after its release.

There is no such thing as an all-perfect car, no matter what kind of car it is.

However, Yaris Cross is an evaluation that can be said to be almost perfect.

I'm sure I'll have more and more opportunities to see "Yaris Cross" around town.
